Do you receive?

Are you allowing for the exchange of energy in your life? You might be wondering what I mean. There’s a Universal Law of Giving and Receiving, which suggests that energy is in constant and dynamic exchange. The more we give, the more we receive.

However, I've noticed that many women, myself included, often struggle with the receiving part. We’re natural nurturers and givers, but we sometimes forget to let the energy flow back to us. This can lead to exhaustion, burnout, and feeling overwhelmed. Does this sound familiar?

Adam M. Grant writes in his book Give and Take:

"Give and take is a cycle - Give and take is not a one-time event, but a cycle. Givers need to be takers from time to time, and takers need to learn to give. Reaching the right balance in relationships is key for everyone to benefit."

So, the next time someone offers to help you, let them. Accepting help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s essential for maintaining a healthy balance of giving and receiving. If it feels challenging to accept help, start small. Welcome little acts of kindness and gradually open yourself up to receiving more.

Embracing this exchange of energy can restore your balance and well-being.

Can you let someone help you without feeling guilty?
